CREO by Charissa Rais

“CREO is a customizable stamping device that could generate geometric letterforms. [It] comes in a wooden package complete with one stamp holder and a set of little stamp heads. Upon creating a letterform, one would choose the desired geometric form of the stamp head, arrange them and insert them to the stamp holder.”

Making Future Magic: iPad light painting

I almost like the introductory ‘how-it-was-done’ more than final product. But the whole thing is amazingly amazing.

Psychatric Answering Machine (Kinetic Typography)

I’ve never really searched out kinetic typography videos but I’ve found the ones that I’ve seen to be kind of boring. So your type aligns to the same width, so your ascenders/descenders fit together nicely, so your type flips around at a snappy pace. It’s not really original anymore and it doesn’t convey any of the words in the message.

This video on the other hand shows the words in a meaningful visual way and the message itself is pretty funny.

For the record, (probably) the first kinetic typography I saw years ago was this music video for a Spanish song. Anything after that had to be at least moderately original to be interesting to me. :)
